It all started on Hinge—yes, Hinge! Swiping away through the chaos of COVID, something about our profiles just clicked. She had this stunning photo in a maroon dress and glasses, and honestly, I’m still not sure what she saw in me. But, hey, the rest is history.
Our first date? Well, let’s just say it was memorable. She showed up 35 minutes late (which, let’s be honest, who hasn’t been there?), and I grabbed some guac thinking it was just for me… but she thought it was for the whole table. Oops. At least it gave us something to laugh about all night, and looking back, those little, silly moments are what made us realize we were onto something special.
Since then, we’ve been through a lot more than we ever expected—life’s curveballs came fast and furious. From surviving the Snowpocalypse to navigating a global pandemic, dealing with family losses, and pivoting in our careers, we’ve stuck together like glue. If that’s not a true test of love, we don’t know what is.
But here’s the thing: what really makes us strong isn’t just surviving the tough times. It’s all the little things we do for each other every day. It’s not just about saying “I love you” (though we definitely say it a lot). It’s about supporting each other, showing kindness to everyone around us, and, of course, laughing at the stupidest things. From camping under the stars in Big Bend (where we had no clue of a tradition we were about to start), to dancing in New Orleans like no one was watching (even though they probably were), to crawfish dates (yes, I’m still trying to master the art of peeling them), to sharing drinks in Nashville (which somehow led to cowboy boots and karaoke—don’t ask), and strolling through historic St. Augustine, every moment with her has been an adventure worth living for.
